What's this?Edit

There are tons of Monuments in Scroll Wars, each with a unique name and description. But who are these heroes and villains from the rich history of this land?

That's up to you.

This is a chance (one of many that will be available over time) to make a mark on the game's story.

Each user can choose one monument per 1 week period (to allow others to claim some if they want them) to write a history for.

The history should tell of the individual the monument is dedicated to.

Some rules and guidelines:

  • The Monument must exist in the game itself.
  • Don't involve yourself in the history. Come on, now.
  • Don't write a novel. Keep it simple and people will love it, I promise.
  • Think outside the box. Maybe "Venglerik the Tattered" didn't dress shabbily. Maybe he was physically scarred. Maybe he saved an important piece of literature which ended up tattered. Who knows?
  • Don't make everyone a hero or villian. Let's keep it balanced.
  • Write what you want. This is the most important guideline once you follow the others.
  • Feel free to include details such as why the character got their title, or why the monument is what it is... or both... or neither!

Very important: If you plan to write a history, make it known here before you start. That way someone else won't take it while you're thinking/writing.

I think I'll write a history for Rochelle Monument as a sort of example. -- Mo Mo(d) 19:06, 20 October 2006 (PDT)
Additional guideline: The Monument must be one that exists in game. <_< Heh. Almost missed that interesting loophole. :X -- Mo Mo(d) 21:35, 20 October 2006 (PDT)
Aw, and here I was going to make a Monument called the Super Deity Rescue team =P - JedazΣT POT ΞD GIS S! 21:38, 20 October 2006 (PDT)
Ah ha! Good thing I stepped in, then! *stands proudly* heh. -- Mo Mo(d) on pot 21:40, 20 October 2006 (PDT)

Perhaps the "one week" thing was ill advised. -- Mo Mo(d) on pot 15:21, 23 October 2006 (PDT)

You only have about 3 more days or so to wait =P Anyway this will give us all something to do later when we can't think of anything to do =) - JedazΣT POT ΞD GIS S! 21:03, 23 October 2006 (PDT)

Azel MonumentEdit

{{This is a monument dedicated to Azel the Unworthy. It depicts two figures with a to-scale headstone between them. The first is a human form made from fired and glazed clay posed to be poised striking past its back and over its head with a shovel at the skull of an ironwork skeletal minion climbing out of a burial mound.|coordinates=(49,30)|description=A monument dedicated to legendary Azel the Unworthy. It is of a gravedigger attempting to knock undead trying to rise up out of a crypt back down using a shovel.|history=Every so often there were periods in between major fighting when many people still lived in Hornet town and they simply rebuilt as best they could in between the passing waves of various conquerers and warring factions. It was in one of these "semi-peaceful" periods that a humble gravedigger by the name of Azel would forever earn the enmity of none other than Blisterbone himself. One day when overworked he made the mistake of asking necromancers to make some assistants for him. They ran amok unburying themselves and trying to bury other things such as the not undead and even nonliving objects. The highest of these necromancers became frustrated with the callous stupidity of his fellow occult practicioners who were responsible for it and he killed them absorbing their powers which added to his own (as he had already been climbing in rank and abilities for many years at this specific point). Azel had the unfortunate mistake of recklessly throwing a rock at yes, that person's head and well, let's just say that his job was that much the more difficult for the rest of his life. Some say that his ghost can still be found wandering, drifting on ill-lit mornigs shaking its fist at the self-exhumed tombs of the undead. Others say that he swears at any skeletal forces nearby that amass near the site of where his former village once stood, muttering insults.}}

<- Hey, I followed the blasted formatting template! Grr... Wiki is insane. I think I am going to consider adding the wikirage sticker to my user page. Hmm. I'm sorry, it's kinda long, but the idea and its explanation into the backstoryways fit to some of the ones that are already there. Yeah, I already did the history part. The templates here >hate< me... ;-( !

He he he, try it again using the new instructions. It should be much easier to understand and harder to muck up. - JedazΣT POT ΞD GIS S! 02:56, 23 November 2006 (PST)

Okay, I'll add that onto my to-do list. Thanks for the tip.

Chumnik MonumentEdit

There is a bit of an issue with the Chumnik Monument history. The description of the monument says it's a sword, but the history says it's a statue of Chumnik... unless I'm reading it wrong. --«» Draaj (Talk)ModPoT 15:23, 24 October 2006 (PDT)

Good pickup, I wrote that and now I've fixed it. Basicaly the same story but with a few of the words different. I should read the descriptions better ;) - JedazΣT POT ΞD GIS S! 19:05, 24 October 2006 (PDT)

Forthusker MonumentEdit

I felt free to claim it, and am thus writing the history. --«» Draaj (Talk)ModPoT 16:51, 31 October 2006 (PST)

Tarneck MonumentEdit

Hey, sorry about writing it before claiming it here, i didn't even look at the discussion section *sheepish* hope it's still all ok... Dean.b.fred 16:54, 3 November 2006 (PST)

Don't worry about it at all. I mostly stated that just so folks wouldn't both choose one and write for it before realizing. Doesn't seem to be too hot a topic, so there's absolutely no problem so far. lol -- Mo Mo(d) on pot 22:45, 3 November 2006 (PST)

Merdglast MonumentEdit

Ditto about the claiming thing, but I guess it wasn't an issue ~X.

Gutsley MonumentEdit

I'll be claiming Gutsley monument then, I'll post mine soon. PillsyCDF 11:54, 12 December 2006 (PST)

WHILE WAITING I DIED -- Mo Mo(d) on pot 22:34, 10 December 2007 (MST)
Coming Soon, eh? Perhaps we should clear it and allow for another player to claim it? --«» Draaj (Talk)ModPoT 04:19, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Yakken Monument Edit

Let's see if we can revive this. I'm writing a history for Yakken. --«» Draaj (Talk)ModPoT 20:46, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
